What is Embodied Movement?

  • Not Just Dance or Yoga: This fusion of practices is a moving meditation to music, sometimes fast, sometimes slow, tailored to help you get out of your head and into your body.

  • Holistic Approach: It’s a little bit mindfulness, a little bit dance, a little bit somatic qigong, wrapped up in layers of fun, wellness and community.

  • Supportive Environment: Dedicate time and space to yourself to support the many layers we embody as women and untether from the roles that often lead to stress and disconnection from our bodies.

  • Comprehensive Benefits: Through simple movements, we work the body, open the heart, and still the mind all in one breath. This is an outlet for self-expression that brings awareness, confidence, relaxation, and joy back into your life.

 

 

The Purpose? - A Moment Just for You

Dedicated time and space to yourself that supports your many layers is vital to your wellbeing and to being able to show up in life fully embodied to do all the things that you do for others. We women are the natural nurturers of life and therefore we can fall into unhealthy patterns of always giving – never receiving. This creates imbalance within self, relationships and life, does not honour the feminine within us that is naturally receptive and is not at all sustainable.

We often put ourselves last, prioritising the needs of others and our daily responsibilities. This can lead to stress and a sense of disconnection from our bodies and inner selves.

Stepping into Embodied Movement is:

  • A Self-First Practice: Reminding you that self-care and time for self, health and happiness is never selfish.

  • A Recharge and Renewal: Sanctuary for supporting the many layers you embody as a woman, away from daily pressures, so you can untether from the roles you play.

  • A Reclamation of Your Power: Making sacred space – inside and out - that is just for you, prioritising your physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

 

What to Expect

Each session is designed to be a sanctuary for you to:

  • Reconnect with Your Body: Gentle and engaging movements that suit all fitness levels.

  • Find a Little Serenity: Techniques to still the mind and open the heart.

  • Experience Joy: Expressive movements that move your "stuck" pieces, empower you to create your days and bring a lightness to your life.

  • Variety in Every Class: Every class is a little different, offering a range of rhythms from stillness to flow to ecstasy, honouring all the layers of your being.

  • Emotional Honouring: Honour all emotions as they are, find a safe space to feel and express fully.

  • Personal Approach: While I teach basic steps, each movement is approached from a personal perspective, allowing you to explore how it needs to be expressed through you.

  • Inside-Out Movement: Movements are carried out from the inside out, focusing on awareness, connection, and expression.

  • Reflection Time: Every class includes time for reflection, helping you integrate the experience and carry its benefits into your daily life.

FAQs

What do I need to wear for classes?
All you need is comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Bare feet or socks are encouraged.

Do I need any prior experience?
No prior experience is necessary. Every movement is tailored by you, for you so you never move beyond your limits. All levels are welcome.

What should I bring?
Your beautiful self and an open mind are the only necessities... but your are welcome to bring water, a yoga mat if that might feel comfortable underfoot, a small cushion in case of floor work and a journal may serve you as well if you wish.

Anything else I need to know?
Classes offer moving meditation to music for the purpose of moving things from the inside out, therefore some songs may contain the occasional explicit lyrics.
